Like her, he might have become convinced that the world outside that house was not the place for him. He might have felt intense loyalty to Miss Emily, and maybe even, like the town, an obligation to her. If they were raised together, they might easily have developed a kind of brother-sister relationship. Alternatively, he might have despised her, or been disgusted and horrified by her. He might have wished for her death. As a human being in a completely bizarre situation, he might have felt a complex tangle of all of those things, and more.
CaregiverTobe gave his whole life to the care of Miss Emily. The Tragedy of Tobe In the section above, we speculate about Tobe. Comparing "A Rose for Emily" and "Frankenstein"Both of the stories that will be compared in this paper, William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily" and Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, are very demented novels that contain central premises very estranged to most readers. Similarly, in Shelley's Frankenstein, the evil and murderous nature of the beast created by Victor Frankenstein is well described in many angles and shows the prevalent need for the monster to make Victors life as unbearable and lonely as his has been since his creation and immediate expulsion by Victor. The dark nature in both stories can be startling, but are the central components and are used to make for a more interesting and intriguing story for the reader. Though a horror story is more common in this day and age, a story to the effect of Frankenstein was unheard of in 1818 when the book was written. Both novels have a powerful effect on the mind and imagination of the reader. In Frankenstein before the creation Shelley says, "Who shall conceive the horrors of my secret toil as I dabbled among the unhallowed damps of the grave or tortured the living animal to animate the lifeless clay? In A Rose for Emily Faulkner explores the argument that the advantages gained by the aristocratic classes can sometimes act as an entrapment of social constraints. The story is also not chronological which allows Faulkner give an analeptic account of Emily's life after beginning the story, which it turn allows him to begin with a puissant first paragraph consisting of one sentence in which the main character dies. The story has been described as a... Copyrights "A Rose for Emily" by William Faulkner from BookRags Student Essays. What kind of fiction is A Rose for Emily?
